Pictures of the Old Saw Mill

We recently had some amazing pictures taken of the outside of the Old Saw Mill, including some very interesting aerial shots of the roof and the surrounding areas on back river street. Follow the link below to see the brilliant shots.

Jenna the founder of JLS photography, a Cheshire based wedding and family photographer took the amazing shots using her fab equipment and she did an absolutely fantastic job! If you’d be interested in any of her services you can find her work or contact her via:

Cheshire Kids Clothes Swap Shop

We are being a host for a new Kids Clothes Swap Shop coming to Congleton…
Cheshire Kids Clothes Swap Shop is coming to the Old Saw Mill Saturday 18th June, 9am—12pm
Bring good quality kids clothes you no longer need and swap for the sizes you do need (Age 0-5 only)
The price is £2 for 20 swaps
Unfortunately, the event will not accept stained / holey / sleepwear clothes as part of swaps but you can donate these into their separate “take for free bucket”
Please join us and choose pre-loved clothing to help the environment (and your purse)!

We are nearly out of Apple Juice

We’re nearly out of apple juice! Although we made 2500 bottles of juice last autumn you’ve all been guzzling it and now it’s nearly all gone. The new harvest will start at the end of August and lasts until well into November so new apple juice won’t be around before early September. Meanwhile we’ve got lots of cider vinegar and cider for you to enjoy, but not a substitute for apple Juice!!

New groups settling in – Do you fancy a crafts group?

As some of you know we have a couple of new groups which have started to settle in at the Old Saw Mill.

BRO’s, a men’s peer support group, is now settled in well with a few regular attendees who are always looking for new members to come and talk about absolutely anything and everything over a cuppa.

The women’s wellbeing and support group, organised by Collette from Healthbox, have had their first few sessions and are settling in well. If you’d like to join them for the next session or would like some further information, please follow the link below.

And soon an antenatal teach in class…

Volunteers at the Old Saw Mill are proposing we start a crafts group. This would be a very informal group that would meet once a week, maybe Wednesday at around 3:30pm-5:30pm, to do any form of arts and crafts they choose in the company of like-minded people.

Although this is not set in stone and is still a very rough idea, we are extremely open to other suggestions and would love to hear if anyone would be interested in such a group.

Volunteer Open Day – Saturday June 18th

We are looking for new volunteers to join our Old Saw Mill team…
We are hosting a volunteer open day at the Old Saw Mill, from 3pm till 4:30pm Saturday June 18th.
Complimentary tea, coffee and sweet treats will be available at the event!
So, if you’re interested in finding out more about some of our volunteering opportunities here at the Old Saw Mill come on down to chat with some of our happy volunteers.

We have two upcoming events

Over the next few weeks, we have two events coming up…

So, firstly a Bonkers Bingo evening on Friday 17th June, 6.30pm for 7pm: dress up, be in good voice and expect bingo with a crazy twist and wonderful prizes! Food will be an evening buffet and an Old Saw Mill cocktail as you arrive, price £15, £12 for members.

And then the first Film Night with John Lindley 6.30pm for 7pm on the 1st July! Come and enjoy John’s mystery choice of classic film with themed food and drink, price £15, £12 for members.

We would welcome your suggestions for further film nights

12 Months since we re-opened

Doesn’t time fly!! It’s been 12 months since we opened our doors again since COVID!
We’d like to take the time to thank each and every one of our returning and new customers for your continuing support.
If you’d like to know more about the plans for the Old Saw Mill over the NEXT 12 months, come down to the AGM on Friday 24th of June at 4:30pm – we’d love the input of our community.
