It’s that time again where we are starting to collect surplus local apples ready to start producing our signature: apple juice, cider and cider vinegar. It seems to be a good year for apples…

We would just like to update you on when we will start juicing, as we’ve had a few locals contact us already regarding when we will be taking apple donations. Therefore, we will start juicing apples the week beginning Monday 19th August 2024. So, if any of you or someone you may know has surplus apples that are ripe and ready to harvest and are looking for a sustainable way to use them up, then please come and donate them to us here at the Old Saw Mill, don’t let them go to waste. All the proceeds from sales will be used to enable the OSM to remain open and continue to support our local community through community projects.

We will take any surplus apples you have of all varieties: windfalls, bruised, the only ones we won’t have (unfortunately) are the mouldy ones! Please also if you have lots of apples you may struggle to pick or drop off get in touch via the details below and we can try and organise collection.

Please note that the café will be closed on Saturday 17th August and Monday 19th August due to boiler replacement work. However, there will be trays left outside to collect them in, so if you’d like to bring apples, please pop them in the trays outside and we will collect and bring them in ASAP!

Thanks in advance!!

The Old Saw Mill 😊
