The Old Saw Mill has been busy providing space for growing groups some, already at the OSM and the others in the development process. If you view the full post on our website (URL below) you’ll find a list of groups which use the OSM on a regular basis. If you’d like any further information regarding any of the groups, or aren’t sure on how to book please contact us.
If you’d like to enquire about making a room booking, please contact us using the phone number – 01260 277 658 or email us on – firstname.lastname@example.org
All in the title really, we sense our customers have hazy memories of the 60s and maybe would enjoy being reminded of the pleasures of our youth! An evening of fun music, quizzing and period food: Wimpy burgers anyone and pineapple upside-down cake with custard. Drinks from the 60s: dandelion and burdock anyone or maybe a Bloody Mary. Usual £15 including 1st free drink, members £12. Oh, and dress accordingly!
You’ll see after a very successful Film Night organised by John Lindley we’re planning to hold a second on July 29th. Film to be chosen but book early, as we sold out at the June Film Night. We will update you as soon as the next film is chosen.
Hopefully this could become a monthly thing if you fancy it?
Last month we mentioned meeting at the OSM to form an informal Craft Group meeting on Wednesdays between 3:30pm and 5:30pm. We are going ahead with organising the group and are meeting for the first time on Wednesday 6th July at 4pm, to discuss the kind of things we would like to do and for a general chit chat.
So, if you’re interested in popping by for a bit of crafting or even just a natter, we’d love to see you!
Our volunteers have been in full swing getting the garden ready for lots more of these sunny days! There’s been lots of planting, painting and chancing the unpredictable weather these past few weeks. We are extremely proud of the space they’ve created inside the OSM but we’d like to know what you think…
Have you visited our garden? Please give us feedback on your experience, we’d really love to know!
Loyalty and Share Holder Schemes
Here is a reminder of how you can further support us through our loyalty and shareholder schemes…
You can join the scheme by clicking on the link below and filling in the application form below on the full post which is also available in the Old Saw Mill. For £3 per month or £35 per year you will get:
A loyalty card to prove you have signed up.
A 10% discount on all food and drinks you purchase in our café
Every month a free gift, typically a cake or biscuit and a cup of tea or coffee to wash it down.
If you eat in the café at least twice a month you will easily get your money back.
If you want more information, next time you are in why not talk to one of our loyal staff who will do their best to answer any questions you have.
Why not become a Shareholder
If you would like to get further involved and support our work in the local community why not think about becoming a shareholder of the Old Saw Mill. We are currently providing about 80 meals weekly to people in their own homes and are starting a meal voucher scheme to support people who are being badly hit by the reduction in Universal Credit as well as higher energy and food costs.
If you buy shares, you will not only get all the benefits of the Loyalty Scheme but also you will be able to attend our Annual Meeting and elect the members of the Board of Trustees. You may even want to become a board member yourself.
An application to purchase shares can be found by clicking the link on the full post below or you can pick one up in the Old Saw Mill.
You’ll have seen lots of local press about an electric rickshaw bike taking people for trips. Now, the Old Saw Mill, using a Covid Recovery grant from Cheshire East has been able to acquire an electric cargo bike to add to our various sustainable travel methods we already employ to deliver the Old Saw Mill Lunch Club meals each Friday. In time it’ll acquire suitable logos to advertise its presence and we hope to be able to deliver for other businesses around the town, when we’re not delivering meals. Keep your eyes open for this great addition to our fleet!

So, if you’re interested in finding out more about some of our volunteering opportunities here at the Old Saw Mill come down and chat with some of our happy volunteers.
