Update on café opening

After closing on the 16th March we opened the doors of the café on the 6th July from 9am to 2pm, last orders 1.30pm; Monday to Friday.

We would obviously like to thank all those customers who have been to see us and after 3 weeks we are quite pleased with our progress. From next week our rooms upstairs will also have visitors and so thanks again to them for supporting us.

From 3rd August and throughout August we will be participating in the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme which means that on Mondays to Wednesdays, all our food will have a discount of 50% applied.

We have redesigned the café to conform to the Government advice for hospitality premises – maintaining social distancing by reducing the number of tables inside and outside in the garden; introducing table only service; customers will be welcomed by a member of staff, asked to complete the signing-in book with name and contact telephone number to conform with Track and Trace and to sanitize their hands before being show to their tables.

A new menu has been devised with all the old favourites – breakfasts, simple lunches including ploughman’s and our lovely range of cakes and scones washed down with teas, coffees and Old Saw Mill Apple Juice or Ciders.

Our downstairs toilet is available too.

Payment via contactless ideally please!

All of these measures are designed to protect both customers and staff during these challenging times, please come and support your community café.

Our house to house delivery of apple juice, cider and cakes continues of course and thank you to all our customers that have supported us during our shutdown.
